European Union - A budget marked by environment and innovation

While economy and employment on one hand, and agriculture on the other, constitute the main expense items of European Union, the project for the 2009 budget presented yesterday in Brussels by the Commission, emphasizes, at the heart of these two important subjects, considerable rise in expenses relating to sustainable development and innovation.
