News from a former winner: Vegeplast, cereals at the factory

Thanks to the award of the first Innovact 2006 prize (in Reims), the Vegeplast company (Tarbes, 65) was able to attract the risk capital firm Unigrains into its capital (20 %) and buy itself a new factory which has passed under the carbon analysis microscope. The company specialises in the development of corn and other plant-based biodegradable parts, through thermoplastic injection, (vine clips, self-fastening agricultural links, disposable cutlery, and so on). Created in 2003, the company has a staff of 6 and has turnover of €490 000. Its director is targeting a turnover of €3M by 2010 and an increase in staff numbers to 20 or 30.
